“ Building synergies for sustained success „
For more than 20 years, Tradas has pursued a single-minded focus on creating and maintaining long-term partnerships with a wide range of clients operating in major sectors of business, industry and government. Proof indeed of our position as a full-service translation consultancy that aims to facilitate your organisation's growth.
Below is a selection of client case studies, each one illustrating the particular challenge we faced and the reasons why the client chooses to continue working with Tradas as their special linguistic partner.
Komatsu Europe, a major player in the manufacture and sales of construction and heavy industrial machinery and vehicles, faces the costly and time-consuming challenge of multilingual production of user manuals in 22 languages for hardcopy and web publication.
Tradas was first approached on the strength of its longstanding expertise in multilingual technical consultancy. Before they could be translated the Komatsu documents had to be converted from their publication format into a "linguist-friendly" form and then reconverted after translation.
Komatsu Europe asked Tradas if there was not a better, quicker and less costly alternative, which would not endanger the integrity of the layout or web codes. There certainly was! The solution we proposed and put in place enables Komatsu Europe to rationalise its translation workflow and considerably reduce its upstream and downstream investment.
Subsequently, Komatsu Europe entrusted Tradas with a second consultancy assignment. We were asked to examine whether the introduction of an automatic translation system would result in substantial benefits, without of course compromising linguistic quality. The study performed by Tradas provided Komatsu Europe management with a set of objective and practical criteria on which to decide whether or not to implement an automatic translation system.

Some of our clients operate globally in many markets and different languages. This highlights an essential need for centralisation and coordination of each and every step in translation, editing and production according to strict product- and market-led deadlines.
Building on a number of years' experience with different departments, Tradas now operates as the special partner of Automatic Systems, a world leader in physical access control and security equipment. This client entrusts us with the translation of commercial and technical documentation as well as user manuals in all the languages of the countries where they operate in Europe and across the world. In addition, Tradas has set up dedicated translation memories, enabling Automatic Systems to rationalise its translation processes and terminology, and make substantial cost savings at the same time.
